? Avatar Studios by the creators of ATLA and TLOK have been created last year and they already announced a new TV show and a movie

Woah I remember in 2009 reading that this sequel was supposed the be released in 2014 and thinking "no way, 5 years? that's such a long time!!"

Apparently they wanted to advance motion capture technology beyond what it was at the time- potentially even more than there is now.

They also filmed all the sequels back to back over the years, allegedly to make sure they could release them only a few years apart rather than having to wait like this long again between films. 
 

We know they’ve filmed pretty much the entirety of the first sequel, underwater in motion capture because Kate Winslet has spoken about it interviews a lot and how difficult it has been

Interesting, never was a fan of the movie but I'll give it a shot.. like others said, four movies seems like a lot (more when you think how much money they had spent doing them so early and not knowing how they will do)
