Le Pen definitely had a small chance to win, especially considering that Macron is fighting to be the first French President to win re election in decades. But she blew it and her polling has significantly worsened since the first election round.

LGBTQ+ Rights

For both of them, the question of LGBTI rights does not seem to be a priority. During his campaign, Emmanuel Macron did not particularly stand out for his commitment to the LGBTI community. 

He even drew the wrath of associations when he declared on February 15 that the government of François Hollande had "humiliated the France of the Manif pour Tous" (protests in favor of gay marriage) 

Faced with the accusations, Emmanuel Macron had published an open letter on the En Marche website, where he claimed to want to be "the President of the Republic who will give all citizens the same opportunities to deploy their freedom and live the life they want. He also made it clear that he will lead “an intractable fight against hatred towards LGBTI people”.

“I want LGBTI people to feel safe everywhere in France,” Macron’s open letter read. For this, he wants to embark on a “mission to educate our children in mutual respect and equality”. Emmanuel Macron has announced his intention to intensify prevention and screening campaigns for HIV and STIs in general, although this measure does not only concern the LGBTI community. He wishes that, like the police and the gendarmes, the nursing staff be better trained “in health issues and in the reception of LGBT people”.

Trans rights : Emmanuel Macron does not plan to modify the law on the change of civil status and has not planned to cover sex change operations carried out abroad by Social Security, nor is he in favor of the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Products (ANSM) make a Temporary Recommendation for Use (RTU) for the management of hormone therapy

Regarding marriage for all,

if elected, Marine Le Pen warned: homosexuals will no longer be able to marry in France. In May 2013, the Frontist candidate also announced it bluntly: "Me in power, I will abolish marriage for all". However, there is no question for her of canceling the marriages already pronounced. The people who have already joined the town hall would therefore not be “unmarried”, she assured. The French monsters here can do a lot better explanation than I can. But from what I understand, her positive position on Russia and the fact that her party took major amounts of funding from a Russian bank really hurt her. (she also probably had a boost before the first election round because of candidates like Zemmour who made her look less far right than she is)
