Are you serious? If a muslim man started singing in Arabic during a flight with an American airline, he would most likely get arrested and interrogated. Also I tell you people would shout at him and tell him to stop annoying the other passengers and to 'go back to his own country'. There is a double standard but it's certainly not the one you're complaining about.

Gosh I really hit a nerve there I guess

You didn't, I'd be equally annoyed by any religious group singing on my flight. But your point is just ridiculous. :vegas:

I hate people who talks in flights, I hate babies in flights, I hate everything that moves in flights, even the planes, I would suffer like hell.

but tbh the worst is the annoying people who claps when the plane is landing, like wtf, nobody does that since the 90s, let me land in peace, my ears just popped I don't need Coachella in my ears.

What about a hot cowboy that talks to you the entire flight :hor:

Imagine the singing guy was muslim ...no one would dare to interrupt him or speak against it ...let that sink in. You'd be afraid of being called islamophobic ....it's so much more accepted to critize the Christian religion than to be critical with the Islam. Double standard at it's best.

And this comes from someone whose only religion is GAGA

This is the dumbest and most cringe take I read this year. Congrats I guess

Disgusting and obnoxious.

It's some people singing happy songs on a plane, chill out:emma: annoying maybe, but 'disgusting' is such an overreaction

Can you show examples of this happening:poot: I'm not for a second saying Muslims don't face discrimination in America but saying they'd get arrested and interrogated for singing is definitely an exaggeration.

All these people talking about double standards, but would anyone in this thread actually say these same things if these songs were Jewish/Muslim/Sikh/any other religion?

People act like Christians are the worst for forcing their religion on people, as if in many Islamic countries the airlines themselves don't literally broadcast prayers on the plane:emma:

If you want to sing God’s praises cool, but don’t do it when I want peace and quiet on my flight. I would also think it would be a distraction to the flight crew if they can’t hear guidance, I’d like to land in one piece thanks.

For me, it's not about the religious aspect, but the fact that they are being disruptive and obnoxious. I'd feel the same way if they suddenly got up and started singing Gaga songs to be honest. The exception would be if it were a group of talented and famous musicians who decided to sing one song at that beginning or end of the flight.

Also, I'm assuming this is old footage, since people aren't wearing masks.

No one? They've done it in every single flight I've gone on tho. It's literally like everyone :rip:

There's 2 double standards from both sides

Jews or Muslims would be much more likely to get fear reactions based on xenophobia of what ppl don't understand. Like something of outright bigotry

On the flip side it's much more ok it seems to trash talk the Christian religion online or say things that if it was anyone else it would be considered "Islamophobia" or "anti sematism"

I think it's the whole privilege chain thing. Because Christians in the Western World Especially from a social point historically have had more power or treated better, it somehow makes it ok in ppls minds to trash talk them but not the others even if it's for similar situations

OT: I don't care what religion, group, or thing it is. If ur disturbing my peace on the plane that's just annoying AF and yes I'll drag you. No double standards from me there, everyone will get an equally negative reaction from me :enigma:
