Is this an American thing? I always see videos of Americans misbehaving on flights but not other countries.

As a Christian myself, I really cringe when seeing this. That's not a good thing to do.  These people often forget that a lot of people made terrible experiences with church/religion and certainly won't turn into Christians by listing to some worshipping songs (nonetheless while being forced to listen to it for God knows how long in a plane). On the contrary, this is what makes people hate on religious beliefs, understandably so. I wish they would do stuff like this out in a parc or public place, or in their church. 

This is also why I personally condemn mission in any form, no matter what the Bible might say.

How were they allowed to bring their guitar as a carry on? I thought the rule was “if I’d doesn’t fit in the overhead it must be checked.” 

Imagine the singing guy was muslim ...no one would dare to interrupt him or speak against it ...let that sink in. You'd be afraid of being called islamophobic ....it's so much more accepted to critize the Christian religion than to be critical with the Islam. Double standard at it's best.

Are you serious? If a muslim man started singing in Arabic during a flight with an American airline, he would most likely get arrested and interrogated. Also I tell you people would shout at him and tell him to stop annoying the other passengers and to 'go back to his own country'. There is a double standard but it's certainly not the one you're complaining about.
