If the music was very dark, too, then it would feel too heavy. They maintain balance by the songs being *romantic* ala Alejandro, Bad Romance, Dance in the Dark, Telephone (chorus), but not being heavily melodramatic themselves. I don’t think they would be melodramatic if they were darker, though. I love them as they are but I think people have a twisted vision of the songs because of the visuals. (yes also teeth) Monster should have been the lead single just like Gaga originally wanted it to be. I am happy it is so short because then the Monster concept would have been scrapped.
