Kimmo 80,771
No paycheck … no Weeknd We’re told the singer threatened to pull out if he wasn’t paid the same money as West, who was set to rake in $8 million plus a $500,000 production fee. Coachella organizers announced early on Wednesday that The Weeknd, 32, and house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia will be taking over the rapper’s slots on Sunday, April 17, and Sunday, April 24. But a music source told us the deal wasn’t yet done for the “Blinding Lights” singer. The source said, “The Weeknd came in at short notice to take Kanye’s top spot. But Phil Anschutz [who owns the Coachella Festival through AEG Live] wanted to hold on to Kanye’s money and pay The Weeknd far less, just a few million. The festival would pocket the rest.” Hottie Detector

Dennis 8,391
How much was Gaga paid? She strikes me as the person that'd take whatever, they probably gave her like 1M because they know she's too nice to contest

ItWasntLaauv 6,392
I mean, that’s a fair request (even if it is a butt load of money). If he doesn’t get that amount, it’ll just be a bad look on Coachella’s part. This year’s Coachella is such a mess tbh.

Bonkers 29,573
There are two justifications I could imagine: 1. Coachella is dealing with massive refunds due to Kanye dropping out (doubt it) and don't have time to properly promote a new headliner. (plus the expense of a new campaign) 2. Coachella doesn't have time to capitalize on merch opportunities because of the shortened window. But honestly, the whole festival and everyone involved can choke as far as I'm concerned because Remember to like and subscribe, and click on the bell icon to get the latest updates
