Yeah but Rihanna has also been way more safe in her music and concentrated on singles, while Beyoncé's last few albums have been very urban with zero single treatment. Beyoncé has the more impressive album sales per album and is regarded as one of the most talented performers in the history of pop music. Not to mention the GP holds her above Rihanna in terms of impact and that's also kinda legit considering even Rihanna was promoted as a second-tier Beyoncé.

Both super successful women but Rihanna hasn't "won" over Bey in anything other than being a billionaire. Beyoncé is still above her in music overall even though she's sold less records.

rihanna has sold more records by about 100 million, shes clearly had more success when it comes to numbers. you can try to spin it and say beyonce had more impact and is more talented but lets be real and look at records sold and number of hot 100 number ones which rihanna has more. rihannas music was more omnipresent and the numbers back that up. bey is def more talented but her music was always the same, and thats why shes sold 100 million less than riri

conversations like this make me thankful that bey doesn't update **** and just wants to make her music, and be happy with her family :yennefer:

anyways yall should refrain from saying anything racist, dont care if they're a billionaire yall cross the racist line multiple times a day :green:

stop making everything about race, this has nothing to do with race, rihanna is black just as much as beyonce, can i not share my opinion without u pulling the race card? if i was saying a white artist was better than bey then maybe you could argue that, but rihanna is literally black sooooo idk what youre talking about lmaoooooo

I despise billionaires and their greed for needing so much. I guess it's a question of human nature. The worlds a scary place and money = protection, power, comfort and dopamine. Maybe out of fear they hoard money? You bet your bottom dollar Rhianna is not supporting socialist policy. All the Hollywood elites call for lower taxes

There is a fundamental problem with society when a billionare exists. Why do they earn so much? The truth is, their revolting wealth comes from the toiling masses underneath them. No one needs that much money. It should go to the people who helped them become that obscenely rich. The workers. Cost of living goes up but wages stagnate. Thriving wages for ALL.

On the other hand if I became a billionaire, I would no doubt look down upon the unwashed masses with pity and tell my private security to inform them to keep their mucky little hands off the private jet before takeoff. I'd like to think I wouldn't be that person.

Anyway, shower thoughts...

What in the Republican is this post.

You cannot seriously be suggesting a system (speaking in US terms only) that allows 400 people to accumulate more wealth than the other 329 million combined can ever be a stable, sustainable, ethical, or productive one.

Whew.

Nobody needs that much money and the only way to get that much is to steal it, lie for it, cheat for it, or abuse for it.

You're stinky

I dont buy the argument of sales = impacts

sorry but when you have singers like ed sheeran and chris brown who allegedly sold more records than Gaga, Britney, Janet or the Bee gees ..I would absolutely not concidered sales as THE factor for impact

music is subjective one person can like one person and the other hate that person. objectively sales are the only concrete thing you can go by. numbers dont lie, but perception does.

Rihanna and Bey are very different artists but constantly get compared to each other and you can't tell me that's not because they were the two major pop girls of the naughties/10s who were black

Beyoncé sold the most when she was doing the pop music Rihanna has been making her entire career. Beyoncé's Sasha Fierce era sold better than most Rihanna albums and it was almost pure pop. After that she went and made very urban records and zero radio appeal.

If we go by numbers, Beyoncé has outsold Rihanna in terms of albums. Why?

Lemonade sold more than Anti, BEYONCE sold more than Talk That Talk and Unapologetic, Sasha Fierce sold more than Rated R and Dangerously in Love sold more than GGGB and Loud. Yes, Rihanna had more hits but she also did the most pure radio pop of any pop girl of the 2000s and 2010s. Rihanna did a dance pop record and an urban pop one. Did pop songs with hugely successful rappers and was trend hopping. Beyoncé pretty much stayed in the same lane from 2010-17 and STILL outsold Rihanna in terms of albums.

And numbers aren't impact. Queen is WAY more popular than Madonna yet sold less records. Queen is waaaaay more legendary than Madonna. Bob Dylan sold less than Justin Bieber but he's way more influential. Numbers don't always mean impact.
