So even though Joyce selected Gaga and Tony to win AOTY, their overall chances are 1 in 12 (or 8.3%). Whereas Billie has a 1 in 10 shot (10%) and Olivia has a 1 in 11 shot (9%). These numbers though are all just based on the GoldDerby selections across Experts, Editors, and Users. I'm a math teacher, so sorry for going nerd status on you! Hope it helps though. I mean Sour was definitely one of the biggest and most talked about albums of the past few years. But rather than just being a compilation of hits, it was a cohesive body of work. Similar to Billie's WWAFAWDWG, it really felt like the birth of a star who knows exactly who she wants to be and how she wants to look and sound. In long-term view, L4S and whole Gaga and Tony collaboration is much more iconic and legendary than any of those other pop albums which existence will be all forgotten in 2-3 years. Personally I feel like a cover album winning album of the year would need to be a total revelation, not just a collection of faithful covers. Yes winning with covers gonna be called "too easy/ relying on classics instead of taking risks creating original songs" but corny generic ballads are the definition of not taking risks...
