TBH I kinda wish Gaga would dump the “army of dancers” pop girl thing. She doesn’t need it nor does it really add to her performances or artistry in most cases. In TF/M she’d have a *few dancers and that was aight but I think having an army of them ala Janet Jackson doesn’t fit Gaga at all the way it did Janet. Remember: Janet was ALL ABOUT precision and exact movements in her dance and performance. Gaga is literally the opposite lmao so idk I just wish she’d feel less beholden to doing things the way they’ve been done and try out different ways of expressing her music and art.

Like, TMB and TF performances were cool because the dancers she did have were used strategically to embellish a performance not be the showcase of it. That’s a lot of pressure when dance isn’t really your strongest performance aspect

Gaga is a great dancer and her music does need choreography. She actually used to nail choreo pretty well until the accident and Richy started  coming up with these messy moves.

Except there is need because she's been doing the same moves for a decade (and more for some songs) now. But when your choreographer is this talentless, maybe it's better to stick to the same ol.

How am I contradicting myself? Lol I’m saying when she had one or two dancers it was cool but her performances are dance centric now and her energy, frankly, doesn’t lend itself well to strict choreography. She likes to riff a lot and add in her own playfulness. Her best performances are not the ones where she dances the cleanest. She is a very rhythmic person, but she also marches to the beat of her own drum rather than sticking to any choreo rigidly. By comparison, Janet and Madonna stick VERY strictly to their choreos (no shade, just different styles of performance; lean into your strengths and proclivities).

The performances that are most “Gaga” are often not her most main pop girl produced ones with big dancing numbers. She makes dance pop  music, sure, but that doesn’t mean she needs choreo to perform it imo
