It's a little jarring to hear Mariah sing fantasy with her current voice.

But this is cute!!

Will it then also be credited to Mariah, or does the remix have to rise on its own to get the Billboard position?

Billboard counts the original song and its remixes as one song.
Mariah will be only credited if overall activity for this remix outpaces that of the original song in the tracking week.
It is unlikely that Mariah will be credited.
The remix didn't debut on Spotify 200 chart in the US, the original is at #72 with 313,277 streams.
'Big Energy' is so high on the chart thanks to the radio, it has over 50M radio airplay. It was over 60% of overall activity (radio + streams + sales) last week. The remix won't get so much airplay.

The edition that sold the most that week gets the credit. So the remix needs to do better than the original version. Basically all versions get counted together, and the biggest slice of the pie gets it.

thanks, that makes most sense. otherwise, somebody could just hop onto the remix and get a #1 without even making a significant change in sales

the remix drags, it's just a bit boring. The song lacked something but it's not that. amazing that they treated it like a real remix. Not just another easy cash grab
