There is a double standard for joking about a man's hairless compared to a woman's. Is there already societal beauty standards women face that men don't? YES! Are these standards fair? Absolutely not! You however CAN NOT negate an individual's level of pain or emotional distress based on their gender. Don't try to invalidate someone's experience. Just because someone is a man doesn't not mean they need to roll with the punches OR that they do not have deep emotional issues from their hair loss. Body dysmorphic disorder affects men as well as women. Male pattern baldness does not make a man feel less manly. It does affect their body dysmorphia, but it is not directly related to how they feel about their gender. There is a direct correlation between hair and identity to women that is not really present in men. My post was to point out how directly a woman's hair affect their identity and feminity. It's not the same thing as say a woman and a man not liking their nose and getting a rhinoplasty or being overweight and getting a gastric bypass. There is a genuine difference. IMO. Unfortunately thanks to our society women don't view their hair loss as just cosmetic. They view it as a loss of their feminity. Most of this user's comments before this one said Jada's hair loss is purely cosmetic. That she is rich and beautiful and she should get over it. I'm not dismissing his struggle, he is dismissing Jada's struggle. Unpopular opinion but Jada ain’t a nice human so I feel ok saying it It is not Jada's responsibility how Will chooses to act. Not to mention she had just been insulted and was visibly upset by it. But I guess she should have sat there and smiled so she wouldn't take away from Will's night and cause him to go on stage and slap somebody??? Your statement is completely misogynistic. Like TRULY. Of the people who deserve blame it's 100% NOT Jada.
doraemon 1,062
I don’t actually care jaida has alopecia, tbh. I mean, she looks lovely. the joke, of course, is as worse as utica’s nice girls roast on rupaul’s drag race season 13, i am so sorry. Chris rock tanked it hard. he’ll never came out from that hole. Jadas been calling the shots in this marriage so call me misogynistic but she’s definitely got some blame in this.

Besides, that’s not just an insult to jaida, but other ladies (that is not famous) who in the same situation as her’s. Not to mention the ladies that got chemo and got no hair as a result. Otherwise we would have Gaga punching Rebel for the bra joke, Tom Hanks decking Gervais at the GGs. The adult thing to do was to not resort to violence and call out the joke. Can’t believe people here are ok with violence.

But he chose to mess with a woman instead.

Are they some shrinking violets that they can’t be treated the same as men? What happened to equality? The joke was off colour but her being a “poor woman” that needs to be protected is more misogynistic than you think.
