Sure do :whitney:

Every time I start to think "ah, she ain't that bad" she does something stupid like this :rip:

A third of a million dollars for a stupid monkey picture. No, for the receipt! for a stupid monkey picture.

There is no justifying this NFT crap

Value is placed by demand. Van Gogh was broke all his life. He could not sell a painting to save his life. It wasn't until after he died the his paintings became "valuable."

Yes, his tangible paintings that are currently sitting in either private or public galleries :vegas:

NFTs are literally scams :rip: they're only valued by the people who are scummy enough to sell them or stupid enough to buy them.

And if Gaga ends up buying the rights to one like this I will keep this same energy :vegas:

apples and oranges :laughga:

no one is going to value these because the product your buying literally isn't real, they have "value" cus of the hype and the way traders trade back and forth with one another in secret to inflate prices

Music isn't tangible either. Sound cannot be touched. You are literally buying pieces of plastic at incredible high prices because blank CD's are literally worthless. They are about $10.00 for 50.

I don't know why people have visceral reaction with what other people do with their money.

There's such a reaction because NFTs are a prime example of how skewed things are in our society. Kids not being fed enough, people with no roof over their heads, but you have a bunch of morons dumping millions into stupid little pictures online that serve ZERO purpose, not even an artistic one (like music) just because.

Do I expect Madonna to take that $300,000 and feed some orphans with it? Nah. But she'd be better off straight up burning it rather than promoting this garbage.

Off topic, I've noticed we're arguing a lot lately @JusKeepBreathin :bear: hope you don't take it personally or anything 'cause I'm not :bear:

Anymore fraudulent then the music business? We all used to purchase three or four CDs a month and now we realize that we can pay $9.99 a month for an entire library of music.

I really think you are trying to bait me into saying something that will get me a warning point. Lots of money is spent on frivolous things. It's doesn't make it a crime.

Also, I'd like you to tone down how pointed your responses have been. You act like I insulted you or something.

Edit: @PartySick Nevermind that last part I just finished reading you last comment. I guess I jumped when I saw the orphans part and responded quickly without reading it completely. :haroon:

a CD also comes with higher quality files than streaming, eternal access to the songs (e.g. Do What U Want) and at the minimun a booklet with more artwork...

it's a really bad comparison cus you're actually paying for a product to own for personal use, an NFT is nothing like that :laughga:

It's literally files saved to a CD. And digital downloads were never on CD's. Let's not pretend iTunes never existed.

virtually lossless files! digital purchases and streams are compressed to mp3 for quick downloading and wide compability (but Tidal offers lossless quality)

that still doesn't give your point any merit... spending $10 on a physical product you can hold and own is nothing like spending thousands on literally nothing :bear:

Girl stop.  Most streaming provides Dolby Atmos at this point.

This conversation isn't even about Madonna anymore. Just make an NFT thread so I can ignore it.

dolby atmos isn't the same as lossless :air:

dolby atmos is surround sound technology, lossless is data compression. the tracks used to create the dolby atmos effect can still be compressed for streaming.

i guess i should stop since you don't know what you're talking about :bear:
