When I watch her seasons she gave me the impression of a very arrogant person, her drag was very bad as well. It might be a case of you had to have lived through the fan culture between season 5 and AS2. Alaska pretty much conquered the drag world before even entering the workroom in AS2. Nobody was doing it like Alaska. Music videos like these were just starting to happen from her, Adore and a few others but mostly it was all brand new and exhilarating as a fan of Drag Race. Alaska's music was catchy, her humor was intelligent, she was simultaneously campy, crazy, button pushing, but also fabulous, but also never took anything too seriously. She's one of the smartest Ru girls ever. By 2015/2016 her hype levels were INSANE. Everyone expected and wanted her to dominate All Stars 2. She has said that she was putting SO much pressure on herself to win that she never even relaxed and enjoyed the moment - which is why she seems cold and distant the whole season. But even after she won the show and got backlash for her poor attitude, she was smart enough to change the whole public perception of her AGAIN. She embraced that people were calling her a snake and turned it into a joke - this was before Taylor Swift's reputation era where she essentially did the same thing. Alaska did it first. Immediately after she won she dropped this bop and iconic video as well. She is essentially un-killable. The fandom tried to cancel her after she won but she's TOO POWERFUL. She outsmarted them and literally convinced everyone to love her again in a matter of days No other winner has been as knowledgeable about RPDR history. She is a superfan of the show and a true genius. Even when she won the crown, her falling to the floor and being all dramatic is a direct reference to Tyra Sanchez winning in season 2. And this is why she's the best winner of all time.

S5 was the first season I watched the show religiously and it's still probably my favorite season ever. I had seen season 1 when it aired and then parts of the other seasons but S5 was when I became a stan. I picked Alaska from the first episode and the rest is her-story! Her music videos were so hilarious and honestly BOPS (btw her new music is really good too ) Sis how did you forget this iconicness I also got to see her live once! I was pretty far away but she looked stunning and was just as funny as on the show! She had a HUGE crowd. I never turned my back on ha but tbh she was so much nicer than some of the other winners like Raja and Tyra, I didn't realize she got so much backlash. But that happens when you're the best
COOOK 76,406
Imma need some time to properly rank them all but I have one thing to get off my chest first: Alaska might be my favorite AS winner probably because even though no one has to say what a winner needs to do, she delivers Drag Race-related content while giving us her own things: the "Drag Queen of the Year Pageant Competition Awards Contest Competition"- giving opportunities and introducing to the world to many deserving drag queens, sickening music, and shows where she pays homage to everything Pop: Bangerz Show, Justice for ARTPOP, and some others I can't remember. She is a superfan of exactly the things that we all love, and she gets to actually live her fantasies based off of that. Who doesn't wanna feel like they're Gaga on stage? I loved Trixie, supported her and rooted for her to win but now she falls hard to last place. I'm sorry I just can't stand her anymore. There's this disingenuous thing I get from her that makes me uncomfortable idk. Is her laugh/scream too forceful and unbearable? Is she trying too hard to be funny every damn time? To me, yes

To me, yes What's hilarious is literally within the last month or more, I've turned a new leaf with Trixie and actually started liking her before I really didn't get the appeal but I rewatched all the seasons lately and it really reminds you of a lot and puts things into perspective. She may be experiencing overexposure. I didn't realize there were other shows she had besides UNHHHHH like the Netflix show....

Yeah tbh Drag Race on Logo was prime. Ever since it switched to VH1 in 2017, there's been a notable....shift....

How do you go from choosing runner ups and MC for All Stars to bringing back underperforming queens on and after drag race? Or bring queens back for the 3rd time??
