Maybe he's just fun to work with.

A lot of people are bemoaning the quality of his recent films, but for actors I'd imagine that doesn't matter as much - what good is having a perfect 10/10 film track record if you're stuck doing shoots that make you feel miserable on top of the anxiety of maintaining said record... I guess actors have to care to an extent, but I imagine on a personal level how fun people are to work with matters a lot more than how acclaimed the movie will be.

Not you guys crying this I can't... He is a respected director, no one has perfect filmography, Ridley has wide range of film which is why I love about him, some directors stuck in their small world like PTA and Almodovar etc.
