little monsters walked so barbs, swifties and armys could run.

back in the late 2000's, little monsters created the formula of delusion and toxicity that modern day fan bases have since replicated and dramatically improved on now that social media is way more developed and prevalent now than it was then.

essentially, little monsters are stan culture boomers. :billie:

this is merely an opinion, but i await your replies. :vegas:

Phantomhive

W didn't "create" it. I remember every other fandom of huge artists particularly the hive being just as toxic and/or deluded as we were. We were just bigger in numbers back then so we were the most obnoxious :billie:

sure, while deluded stans have always existed since the dawn of jesus, gaga was the main pop girl back then that truly mobilized them and gave them power and influence.

Leoooo

Ive had this thought before, in Gaga's early interview when she talks about her memories of TRL, she said she wanted to "Bring back the superfan, I feel like thats been lost a little bit" and wanting to make imagery the fans wanted to eat and lick lol

She was the first to start the naming your fanbase trend, and as she was the most followed person on twitter, all the pop guys and dolls were watching everything she did / how she interacted with her fans etc as they wanted to be her or in her position.

She did bring back the superfan (or stan), for its good and its bad, but she only did that by being worth it in the first place :huntyga:

i'd also argue that while madonna and michael jackson had their fair share of rabid stans, gaga was one of the first pop superstars to reach that level of popularity amidst the golden age of social media, which in turn unlocked a whole new realm of possibilities for stans.

Yeah exactly! I think thats why she said it had been 'lost' as it really didnt exist at that time for a newer artist, almost like all the greats had already been made and thats where the big fanbases are, but she wanted to be that & made good enough material to get her there :firega:

she changed the game completely with artist / fan relationships, literally at the start of the social media age, settling the blueprint up almost
