YouTube has started ID'ing unreleased Gaga music

This began at the beginning of the month. What this means is that any upload of a song will be credited at the bottom of the description, but this also allows for the video upload to be copyright claimed and removed. Songs that have been affected:

- Glitter and Grease (ID’ed)
- The Greatest Thing (Demo) (with Cher) (ID’ed)
- Heiress (ID’ed and removed)
- Out of Control (ID’ed)
- Private Audition (ID’ed and removed)
- Quicksand (ID’ed and removed)
- Text You Pictures (ID’ed and removed)

This list is probably incomplete, but it's what I have found. As you can see, there is a heavy emphasis on songs from late 2008-2010 (and yes I checked more recent leaks such as We Could Be and PARTYNAUSEOUS and they are unaffected).

There has been some discussion in the unreleased/trading community about what this could mean. The theory is that it could just be Interscope/UMG taking the recent leaks into their own hands since it has been out of control for too long :madge:

I've been debating making this thread because I feel like for most of you, this is hardly news, and probably not interesting. However, I think it's worth noting that something is happening behind the scenes, and the fact that they are striking these videos means that they care about these songs enough to take action. What are your thoughts? Do we think it could be something more :hor:

i imagine it's just copyright stuff, does anything significant ever happen whenever demos/leaks start getting removed?

I think they’re just finally getting around to protecting their assets tbh. Took them long enough but it was bound to happen. Probably moving in certain patterns based on release date/upload date but who knows really

There's been discussion about how Gaga's demos are actually still being shopped around, just like how Nothing On was sold. It was pitched to a few artists before Addison eventually bought it. Other tracks have been reworked as well. What this means to me is that these songs are still up for release, even if not by Gaga

LOVE JUNKIE

This has been happening since at least last year. I forget which track it was, but I remember seeing the ID beneath the video and being shook. I'd have to go back through my playlists to figure out which one it was, but it could've been Glitter and Grease or Out of Control since I haven't listened to the others in recent years.

Levine

I'm very ignorant about this, but could this mean that she wants to leave interscope so they're doing this to hold her stuff?

I think this is fair. They were never ours to be heard, seeing these songs weren't officially released. As much as we may love these demos, we weren't supposed to hear them
