depends on the talent tbh... its better to pick one and excel at it instead of doing many... i feel like megan worded this a lot better... i luv dua and i think its cuz shes well rounded, but nothing about her stands out cuz she can do it all but isn't known for a certain thing cuz she can't excel at it... watch her get more "praise" (if she wants that cuz it seems like she does) if she just sits there with her guitar :huntyga:

f.e: taylor/adele/celine dion are known for their moving vocals, many kpop boy groups got many costume changes and got really complicated dances hence their more known as performers

I think you're right but I imagine what she meant is probably that for some reason female artists are always expected to change and evolve (and then criticized for what they did) whereas male artists tend to find their image and then sorta stick to it for the rest of their career.

ahhh that makes more sense... she spilled then i fear

She’s not shading the artists, she’s stating how women are held to different standards. I’m a huge fan of Ed Sheeran and I completely agree that many female artists are critiqued at a much harsher level. It’s important to not hate on the male artists for this but instead be more fair to the female artists.

It's so true though. Just look at what wardrobe men can get away with (button down shirt, untucked, jeans and boots) whereas if women aren't FULL hair done makeup done waist snatched/Spanx, fashionable outfit head to toe, jewelry, shoes, etc they are read for filth. Regardless of how talented the women are, people look for all the flaws.

Cut to Ed Sheeran with hair looking like he just woke up, a t shirt and jeans and sandals performing Shape Of U for the millionth time :samanthac:
