i don't care. this is something that actively affects normal people WAY more than it affects the government. this is disproportionate. we're bogged down now in sanctions that barely affect the government and just **** over an already economically disaparate country, all because most countries love gulping down their lovely natural gas and oil and don't want to do anything to stop that.

Yeah I was just thinking - won't this really harm citizens (some/many of whom are opposed to what Putin is doing)?

Americans really think this is gonna create a BLM numbers equivalent protest for Russia and democracy will cancel Putin ☠️☠️

it's not gonna cause protests or dissent against the government. it's just gonna make innocent people's lives harder.

those that support putin (sadly a decent amount, the reactionary right wing relies on the working class for support) will blame the west for this change and those who oppose him will be suppressed by the government.

considering his political angle, this could even cause support for putin to rise in russia.

It will but it also hurts the rich d*cks that are in charge of everything too. The world has basically waged economic warfare on Russia and unfortunately the first place you target is the foundation of an economy - the working class.

So either the working class rises up (doubtful) or the entire economy collapses and leaders (and their funders) go with it.

It really is a lose-lose-lose situation here :bear:
