She is smart. She wants the Best Actress prize. It's a long game that I think honestly started with The Sound of Music. She is keeping them fed and happy. The Oscars are totally political. If you fall out with them, you won't win.

Actually this might not be terrible for her. Every time she's gone to the Oscars she's been nominated so there was probably a lot of pressure on her the whole night. Now she can just have a good time and not have that nervous feeling all night.

Joan Crawford was one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood in the 1930s and highest paid women in the US period. But by the end of the decade, every movie she starred in was a flop and she was considered "box office poison." She took a few years off, but came back in the 40s and won the Oscar for her first film back (Mildred Pierce).

I don't think we want Gaga to have the same trajectory. I ain't got that kinda time. :patrizia:
