Yeah usually these lawsuits have no merit to them and they're just chasing clout/money but her label have ripped this song off and I hope they win.

Doesn't Dua have multiple songs which have lifted melodies from other songs without crediting? I remember hearing many comparisons side by side. And almost all of them sound similar. Not saying Dua stole them. But someone in her group, producer or writer, must have done them and thought they could get away. :laughga:

It sounds good. They should collab and make a remix.

Dua will no question win this case

it's the same chord structure, but even the way the bassline is built in "Levitating" is very different than "Live Your LIfe".

This would be equatable to Madonna suing Gaga saying "Btw" is a carbon copy of "Express Yourself", which, BTW is not.

Honestly, this bloodsucking is more...what did madge say...?

...reductive...than anything Dua's done. Let people live their lives. Music is cyclical. They did not invent this chord progression.

No don't drag Gaga into this. Btw and Express Yourself have at most similar themes and motifs and that's it. You might as well compare apples to oranges. I don't know how miss dua will prevail in her case bc it's like when you copy your friends homework but change it just enough to avoid cheating type of thing

Lmao they blocked my signature

I like it too!

Makes it all the more fair that DP should give up some of our money to them :billie:

Spoiler

Can't say I am entirely shocked tho :reductive:

The chorus is the same, no one is asking you to stop stanning dua or stop listening to the song so don't lie to yourselves. Its fairly common for big stars to go out on soundcloud and steal from unknown people hoping no one will ever notice but this is multiple steps too far :deadbanana:

Lady Gaga 2009

At first I thought this was going to be another completely meritless lawsuit like the Taylor Swift one, but there is definitely a case for copyright infringement here, so I hope Miss Dula Peep will prevail

Why do record companies continue to steal like this?! It's disgusting:fthis:

So y’all actually think Dua said “lemme record a cover rq…”

These lawsuits never sit right with me. An artist accidentally makes a similar song and they lose millions? And accused of stealing? Wow. If you don’t know every song I’m existence ur not safe, it seems
