I'm not sure where you're from or if you know this, but gas prices there are already like $7.50/gallon and it's costing them $115 just to get a full tank of gas. They're not in a position to just drop Russia's gas imports just like most other countries.

I am well aware of this too, but they at the same time need to at least politically put their foot down with Russia. I understand that Germany has a thin line to walk here.

They've decided not to give a operating license to nordstream 2 and were even a major party in negotiations of the Minsk protocol, the agreement for de-escalation between Ukraine and Russia years ago. I'm not sure how else Germany should be putting it's foot down as almost anything at this point is all growl with no teeth, but (respectfully) I'd like to hear it.

After some consideration I might be following other common opinions here (and I do apologize for that), but from what I have heard Germany is not sanctioning Russia enough because of its own (understandable) guilt for its history.

@TortureMeOnReplay

Do you have any thoughts? Mainly asking because I now am a bit more iffy with my stance on this.
