This was after announcement of sanctions.

It clearly shows that investors think the sanctions are not tough as they expected. Good for Russia sadly that western leaders are being cowardly.

F*cking Italy and Germany refuse to participate in SWIFT, which is a big part of the problem, and Europe is STILL buying gas from Russia. Also Canada's sanctions were surprisingly weak asf. And I can't believe I'm about to give Boris Johnson credit for something (he's a horrible man), but what he did to Aeroflot was very good (tho he needs to do way, way more).

I'm truly ashamed.

The whole western alliance is being undermined by a country with an economy smaller than Italy's.

Imagine how fast we'd surrender if China invades us.

I'm German and in no way I stand behind Germany's decision against the SWIFT cutoff. A sad day for the Western world :madge: .

unfortunately Italy depends a lot on Russia, especially for gas and wheat. Already now with the current sanctions, prices are expected to rise.

If Russia were excluded from the SWIFT system, we couldn't pay them and we couldn't have gas supplies.

I read a comment that said "Putin not only has the knife on the side of the handle, but he has the whole kitchen".

Here is the situation

My thoughts exactly.  It’s a dark day when we actually think Boris is doing a better job :messga:

The same ones who did nothing to stop Hitler are doing the same again with Putin.

Apparently it gets real dirty bts in Germany. The Ambassador from ukraine in Berlin was invited to the German Ministry (on his own request, yikes :awkney:) and did say in a Talk Show yesterday, that German Politicians already gave up Ukraine bts. They wouldn’t listen to him and indirectly told him in the face that its a lost case. So sadly it comes to no surprise that sanctions are light and Russias stocks are rising :madge:

He who has energy resources has real power, and in this case, a huge part of all Europe basic activities depend on Russian gas. It's sad but this is EU fault, they could have invested a lot in building pipelines from north Africa so our economy didn't depend on some crazy dictator from an external country:koons:

Then our economy would depend on the crazy dictators of the Middle East and North Africa that could blackmail us on immigration

There are many ways to generate energy that do not come from gas. I also don't see the difference between an Arab dictator and Putin.
