Them making jokes about an incident that literally costs people's lives... that's weird and insensitive. Cause most "jokes" I've seen on Twitter (for example) are white American gays literally taking this matter as a JOKE, showing little to zero empathy. I understand what you're saying, but this trend began and peaked about 2 months ago before solid information was widely known. All that was told at the time was that Russia was mobilizing troops, POSSIBLY to invade Ukraine. Most people have no clue why Russia wants to invade Ukraine, much less younger generations who's only idea of Russia is education on the Red Scare and the idea that Russia is a tyrannical government. We've just started to somewhat get past the huge implications of Covid along with the younger generation being almost completely locked down and out of their teenage/young adult lives for the past 2 years and you expect them to put on a brave face and not deflect? Can we just admit that all this, being told our country is heading towards civil war, along with many other unprecedented things is a bit much for gen z and this is simply how they're coping? Even if they're not being serious publicly, doesn't mean it doesn't weigh on them privately.

SlaeUrAnus 16,111
I've seen Gen Z making memes and everything on my Twitter and FB. Some 'influencer' on my Snapchat said they are afraid to go to England because they are worried they will be caught in the crossfire. THEY ARE FROM NORTHERN IRELAND. It actually makes me sick. In my messy era.
