I watched a bit...it seems decent so far but I do think he's underplaying the situation when he talks about "historical ties" and how "generations crossed back and forth" (which is obvs. true, but I feel like he should have fleshed that out more ). The reason there are so many ethnic Russians in Ukraine is in large part due to the fact that the Crimean Tartars were borderline ethnically cleansed in the 1940s by Stalin and Beria (and the various awful sh*t the tsars did before the Soviet Union). There was a super depressing, interesting article that I'll post if I find it tomorrow about how ever since Russia retook Crimea in 2014 there have been severe crackdowns on the tartars who live there.

He's testing all the possible limits to see how other leaders will react. It's eerie how some of his actions seem like they've been taken out straight from the actions that lead to WW1/WW2.

It really is insane how Putin directly targets hospitals. I'm not downplaying other countries (including Western) imperialism and war crimes, but I honestly can't think of any other contemporary countries/regimes (post WW2) that go after hospitals on purpose, not by accident, in particular with the exception of Syria and Russia (in Syria and now Ukraine). Even in countries that have committed genocide or wars that have major war crimes don't seem to purposefully bomb hospitals.

*Obvs., I could be wrong and I know in Rwanda churches were targeted and the atrocities during the break up of Yugoslavia...

Nicaragua, Cuba, North Korea support the Russian invasion. China doesn't side with the West in terms of recognizing Russia as a clear agressor, which is also pretty telling. The only potential ally Russia has in Europe is Serbia (Belarus is not as much of an ally, but a subordinate state).
