Maluma is ready to conquer Hollywood after his acting debut in the film Marry me with Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.

“My dream is to get into Hollywood, it’s the right time,” said the singer in an exclusive interview with the EFE Agency.

Maluma is also clear about another thing: not to forge his career only with romantic comedies, but to go further and try his luck in action movies with two of the most popular characters in pop culture: Batman and James Bond.

“I would like to break that stereotype and be the first Latino Batman, or I don’t know, James Bond.«, he confessed to the EFE Agency. “I could take my career to another level and represent our culture.”

Love that he has such broad prospects for his career and he’s not allowing him starting off in the Latin market stop him from breaking through those barriers

I'll never understand why Hollywood and celebrities insist on changing established characters people have known for DECADES just to accommodate modern "woke and inclusive" trends...

If you really want to make an impact...don't change what's already existed...make something brand new and create your own legacy...is that too much to ask?

Just because you were on a romcom with JLo I Dont Know Her Mariah Carey GIF by MOODMAN doesn't mean you're an actor. It takes preparation and discipline to be a successful one. Although he could be on the Avengers since the only thing it requires is steroids and going to the gym

I would love to see him as Bond. He has that charm. Also his face deserves not to be covered by a mask!

I agree but for Bond and Batman you can change the race it doesn't matter

Honestly it's not even really positive for the poc folks getting these roles. It's like "the only way we give you big roles is to let you have a part of a franchise's long history".

Meanwhile they still struggle to create fresh/ exciting projects for them really MADE for them instead of "left" to them nearly all the new super heros that will know their peak soon and become this generation's icons are given to white actors.

Really a fake egality like when they add a minor pic character and give the good roles to the white ones imo.

I'm all here for it. I want to see a trans batman/batwoman who is biracial and maybe even has a physical disability.

Representation matters.

Out of all the Latino superheroes that are getting no screen time you want to change the mythology of a certain character just to fit your own benefit?

I don’t get it. Seems oxymoronic and unconsciously conditioned.

At the end of the day it may be fiction, but there are deadass so many Latino superheroes that could be made. They have yet to have their own black Panther level event film and giving them such while also paying appropriate respect to their said culture is far more a compliment then trying to rewrite another character for the sake of pacification.

The only reason I can think of as to why he’d wanna be the first Latino Batman is because there just has not been enough Latino superhero representation for children to look up to or be inspired by.

Batgirl’s bestie/sidekick is openly trans (as is the actress) and her movie is coming out on HBOmax this year.

Representation is slowly but steadily becoming more appropriate and respectable.

also there is a “black Batman” that goes by the name Luke Fox / David Zavimbwe (two versions in the comics).
