But anyway I think the narrative isn't entirely harmful to her image. I think some actually believe her to be a more serious actress because of that. The critics and box office seem to think so. Also Jeremy Strong, Kristen Stewart talking about trying to make herself sick, Benedict saying he made himself sick chewing tobacco and mentioning that he wouldn't talk to Kirsten Dunst on set at all, Lily James saying she talked in her Pamela Anderson accent non stop for several months, etc..... For real (and I've said this a lot), outside of the nurse comment, none of Gaga's comments were that "out there" when you look at in context with other actors. But she was an easy target.... I agree, tho, that the narrative isn't that bad for her. Not so much in that I believe people "like" it...but because outside of people who are super on twitter/into film twitter it really didn't permeate through to the general public that much. It’s one of the most popular acting techniques, so.. but it’s Gaga and she’s always like that, so I know that perfectly because I’m fan of hers for several years now.
