So he is the Glenn Close-in-Hilbilly Elegy-moment-of-whatever (many bitter people where hoping it was going to be Gaga). 

Eh, he took a huge swing, so thems the breaks, and he probably knew this was a possibility. I think there were times when he could have toned it down, but honestly, my Mom and sister were greatly amused by him, so IDK, I think he kind of helped the movie get the comedy beats it needed to communitcate that it was in fact a bit of a dramedy, and not too self-serious.

Why does America loves such negative stuff? Taunting people and laughing at their expense. I hate the idea of an awards show for 'worst in' categories. Ridiculous. Same thing as roast battles. Yuck
