Apparently he starred in 8 movies in 2021 (all critically panned), and has 8 more coming in 2022 :triggered:

Can't wait for the next worst performance by Bruce Willis in a 2022 movie :flutter:

The question is, who is paying for all those movies?

Maybe I should question if you're evolved enough to understand sarcasm, then. This thread is all about fun. Look at how I started it: "Congrats to Jared Leto for the recognition"..

Don't back-pedal now and and try to frame it as 'sarcasm'.

You weren't being sarcastic, as per you comment earlier responding to another member who said maybe he just wasn't good.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. Just don't think it's nice thing to say, basically calling people who don't think he was good not 'evolved.'

Next to Gaga and Al, his presence and character made the film tolerable. I can't imagine how much more dull and boring it would have been had he not provided some comic relief.

hey jeremy irons was a huge stand out too, his performance was great, and the way i laughed when the movie cut suddenly from a shot of him alive next to a shot of his corpse, it was hilarious

It was honestly like he didn't even try, it really took me out of the scenarios, there's a way to do camp if that's what he was going for, but nothing about him was grounded in reality or built off his fellow actors and scene partners.

It drives me mad as someone who has studied acting for most of my life, like he clearly received no clear direction either, he could have easily kept the energy and comedic value of the character without going into parody movie level bad.

The funny thing is there are people who talk like that. Obviously less exaggerated, but the intonation is pretty similar.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree... It seemed to me the classic performance of an actor who wants to be histrionic but doesn't have the strength or the personality, so he just overdoes it.

As they say in Italian, "he pissed out of the pot".

I honestly feel like people hate the character more than the performance itself. You can expect roles like Maurizio or Patrizia in this genre of movies, but Paolo's clumsy mannerisms and exaggerated personality felt out of place at times

Maybe next time act like the real-life person inspiring your character

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

He was trying very hard to be memey and cringe: "Mauuuu, it's aaameee paaaoloo how could you", literally trying to sound like "its me mario", very intentionally...
