enissa11 2,984 Posted February 6, 2022 Share Posted February 6, 2022 this short interview really went under the radar during the press campaign of HOG and it's really interesting, check out: she says that she relived her own trauma to play her and i really felt that in a few scenes, for example the scene with aldo and the way she was shut down by him by saying that it was not a girls game when she was in fear that gucci would damage its prestige and end up loosing it all because of the fake market they were allowing, and then the scene when maurizio rejects her outside the building, that was really heartbreaking, the coldness and stoicism of Mauricio was really cruel and then the shame and desperation in her face was also heartbreaking, i think it was the moment when she realized she was totally disposed off by all these men and all her strife with Gucci was all in vain, it made me remember a very shameful personal experience in which i was rejected the same way, those who think that gaga's acting has no nuance and it's amateurish don't know what they are talking about, one of the reasons she's getting so much praise above all the famous singers that venture into acting is because she does it like she's been doing it for years and it's only her second lead, it's impressive. enissa11 2,984 Posted February 6, 2022 Author Share Posted February 6, 2022 it's also important to note how she was so insistently and almost desperately trying to belong, to be part of something, "our name" "so i am" trying to be a member of the Gucci, trying to matter, and in the end she lost it all, i think this is the reason that the scene in which she was totally disposed off was so strong as all the things that gave her life purpose were shattered, you can see the total change in her after that scene, and it's really on point because in real life patrizia is still trying to do so, calling herself a gucci and saying that she was the most gucci of them all, trying to reclaim what they took from her because she can't find other purpose to heal. I understand the praise but sometimes I also don't, just my opinion i don't know it's the best performance i've seen in my life, i don't think so, and i haven't seen somebody saying that, but i don't care, what i know it's that it was honest and it made me feel, it made think about past personal experiences with rejection that i saw reflected in her performance and it made me a bit emotional, i think it's definitely Oscar worthy, she deserves all the accolades. She is in her second movie role and she's already generating the acclaim of an actor as if she's been hustling in the acting industry for 10 years. And I really don't think it's inaccurate to say her performance was indeed better than Olivia Colman's (The Lost Daughter), Jennifer Hudson (Respect), Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye). I personally don't think she has surpassed Kristen Stewart's Spencer but many people absolutely abhor her portrayal of Princess Diana and are much more inclined to endorse Gaga as the best actress of the year, so I'd say the acclaim for Gaga is very much justified. I respectfully disagree, I've seen great moments in her in her performances, with great scenes and I've seen very mediocre moments in her performance, you just know it's just her beginning... I am just reminded sometimes of these great superb actors who've only won one oscar, one BAFTA and come from the theater, and worked for a very long time and then see Gaga having all this praise so fast and award nominations, it's just weird. But I think because the movie business, it's changing and it's not the same now as before. I always sound like I think Gaga is not talented and was bad, she wasn't bad, she was good, but to say that she was great and a genius I can't agree on it. It's not on that level but if she wins good for her, it's just weird to live in a world where Pacino has one oscar, and Gaga wins one in her first motion picture, when Pacino's first movie was Godfather alongside Brando... and that's the same to say with Leo Dicaprio, or Meryl Streep... and Gaga's accent was mediocre, and performance good but not great and she has all this praise, it's odd a bit to me. I'm happy for her because I love her, but being called a hater because of my subjective personal opinion I hate that. Of course I'd want nothing more for her to be very successful in this, but it'd seem a bit fast and I think she could win an oscar for another role and would love to see her grow more and more...
