Traditional Korean idol fan culture wants K-Pop stars to stay single forever, in order to be able to imagine yourself as the person's romantic partner. Even to this day, the sales and relevance of K-Pop stars is in dire danger if you're exposed to not be single. Latest example is the member of boygroup TVXQ Changmin, a legendary group that was active in the mid 2000's. He's 33 years old and has been in the game 19 years now. At the end of 2020 he announced his marriage to a non celebrity, which tanked his album sales completely. His early 2020 release (before the marriage announcement) sold 110,000 copies in South Korea with first week sales of 64,000 approximately. His early 2022 release from two weeks ago debuted with sales of 14,000 copies.
