Disclaimer. This is not meant to be a hate  post.

I love Gaga and her work. And I really really like Chromatica.

Im just asking myself do other fans think:  Is Chromatica her "worst" Album so far.

I start with my opinion:

Likes:

-Catchy Songs (i love house and electronic music)

-Singels: Rain on me is so good (911 as well+)

-The classical string arrangement parts are wowzies!

-Great featurings

-Sum nice music vids (compared to joanne for example / exept john wayne of course)

-The era is so messy that ARTPOP (which is my fave album) is not so messy after all anymore.

-great remix album (babylon <3)

Dislikes

-It lacks diffrent music generes which we are used to by previous albums from her- i mean ARTPOP was full of that, even Joanne had multiple genres in it,- and we dont have to talk about the other BTW; Fame/monster had diffrent generes as well. But Chromatica mainly sticked to house and electronic

-No perfomances (which is not her fault- we are in a pandamic) but i have to say her focus is more on jazz

-less visuals in general

-this one is maybe just me but i think this album is the least gaga-esk album. kind of like more vanilla flavor.  hella catchy tho

Summary

All in all i love the album- As i love gaga and her art- i just want to know what other fans think about it. Compared to other artists/album i think chromatica is on top.

Maybe its just me thinking this, and i dont want to offend anyone, just wanna hear opinions. (im excluding her jazz album as well as ASIB +co)

No. I think it's her 2nd or 3rd best album after Born This Way and The Fame Monster. As for the era, yes sadly it is one of the most disappointing ones because of the pandemic, stuff that was out of her hands.

Chromatica arrived at a time when we really were so hungry for new Gaga pop music. Not a perfect album, but definitely a great enough record to scratch that itch.

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

Far from her worst album, there is no bad Gaga album or era for me personally all her albums have been amazing!

I will say it’s my least favorite sonically. Songs like Free Woman, Fun Tonight, and 1000 Doves lack any interesting concepts that her previous dance albums were full of. But songs like Rain On Me and Replay, along with the interludes, make it a decent album in general. Honestly it was the first album from her that kinda disappointed me. Obviously that’s kinda my fault for expecting something different (Boys Noize) and listening to demos but after 2 years I can accept it as it is. At the end of the day It gave us Replay, which is arguably her best dance song since BTW album.

Agreed tbh.

It definitely felt more mainstream, especially with the way the songs feel like they're made for a streaming service rather than just made 'cause she had something she wanted to say. That and Bloodpop's lackluster production but let me stop kicking that dead horse :huntyga:

If Chromatica weren't a Gaga album, I feel like I wouldn't like it as much as I do. SFA and Replay could have came out as standalone singles and it wouldn't change the songs I listen to...meaning I don't really listen to any other tracks from the album :poot:

But I still listen to BTW, ARTPOP, C2C, Joanne, and L4S religiously :legend:

holy scheisse

I think im biased because TFM -- ARTPOP is so nostalgic for me but

1. The Fame Monster
2. Born This Way
3. ARTPOP
4. Chromatica
5. The Fame
6. Joanne

soo.. pretty middle of the road, for me, in gagas iconic discography. Dawn of Chromatica though >>>>

Also it’s really telling that they felt the need to make a remix album that showed the songs in a new light and many people prefer the remixes over the original versions

I absolutely love the original album and prefer it compared to Dawn.  I feel like the original songs went through a massive change of sound between the demo and the final version. I don’t want to blame Bloodpop for what happened because no one knows who was responsible for that decision.  It’s a great album with an awesome concept that suffered from a lack of promotion and performances.

i understand what she did with chromatica and some songs make me very emotional, but it's just not my favourite album by gaga at all, in fact is one of my least favourites, i still appreciate it for what it is.

Album ERA? Sadly, yes. One of the worst.

Album itself? HELL NO. It's my favorite Gaga album, with BTW being a close second. Stupid Love is my favorite lead single by Gaga and Rain On Me was an excellent follow up. I just think it was all bad timing.
