LilyLark 10,106
I'm honestly shocked (it's not that he didn't top the charts, but that he opened under 150k). I know he did minimal promo, but that's not atypical nowadays.

Seems like a good time between albums but the way Blinding Lights dominated during the whole pandemic and then these recent collabs he's been doing. I don't think people were "hungry" for new music from him. I guess just the fans, not the casuals.

Guest
A large part of the Gaga fanbase here doesn't listen to rap, so it's no surprise they haven't heard of a rapper - which is fair, but I'm not sure why people use that to dismiss people. Although I don't really follow him, Drip Harder and Drip Season 3 (really the only albums of his I have listened to) were pretty popular in the rap circuits and tracks were almost always on Apple Music rap charts and had immense playlist exposure. I more or less agree, but I'm familiar with rap and still shocked he pulled these kind of numbers. Yeah, he's definitely popular but this is a big increase from Wunna & I don't believe he's ever had a single go very high on Hot 100 (tho he did as a feature) even if he does well on the rap charts (while some rappers do well on the rap charts and can break the top 25 on the Hot 100). Edited: I also feel like the GP is kind of familiar with his songs but in terms of name recognition...I feel like Young Thug, ASAP Rocky, etc. get more press.
