This seems like a fair decision based on legislation (putting aside your views on mandates). Biden doesn't have power to impose this mandate– if Congress wants it, Congress must pass a bill to that effect.

I agree.

Biden side-stepped Congress with an executive order while cleverly putting the responsibility to oversee compliance on OSHA and ultimately on private companies.

In regards to our government, it must be said that only Congress has the power to create laws; hence the sidestepping.

In my opinion, Biden’s vaccine mandate was partially a political ploy to appear strong rather than ask Congress to pass a law that would most likely fail. By making a vaccine mandate an executive order, it would appear that he took action when it mattered (at least to his followers).

I viewed the mandate as divisive and unsuccessful (clearly). Today, the data and science on Omicron shows the variant is not as severe as Delta and therefore not as great a threat to society. Couple this with the high level of infections in vaccinated (some boosted) people, a vaccine mandate doesn’t make sense. If the vaccines were 100% effective and truly slowed the rate of infection, then the mandate would make more sense.

Good news is a ton of companies are adopting the rule anyway, including the one I work for.

So there :diane:

That’s the private sector doing what they choose too and that is entirely legal.

People can now choose to work there or leave based on their choice to comply with the company’s policies.

Just when Biden does one thing right... Sad.

It is sad, but he knew he could of been overturned… He should of sent it to Congress, the only branch of government that can make laws.

RAMROD

Many business owners will mandate it anyway, they are losing more money with these lock downs, and slow business, especially in certain field such as tourism, and entertainment, they are tired of it at this point, 2 years in to this, and so obviously they'd rather loose some of their workers who are antivaxx than losing profits.
