Great song, phenomenal album... but the video was underwhelming :oprah:

And honestly it isn't Adele's fault here, she served in the video and looked stunning. I even liked the concept, but having ANOTHER black and white video for such a bombastic and colourful song is a total misfire. Especially when Adele posted that behind the scenes pic of her in the gown with such beautiful deep red tones :partysick:

I guess the video for I Drink Wine is the one with the infamous leaked pic of the outdoor set! Looking forward to that one :vegas:

mm it's probably her most interesting video so far. I first thought it was like referencing all of her past videos/moments, but it does a lot more referencing. I don't really get it but it's interesting.

I had expectations from this video but ...the same chair again! It has nothing to add to the song! Next!

I will fly on a challenger across the sky like a phoenix..

It reminded me of the interview she did (I believe it was Zane’s) in which she talked about how Oh My God was kind of about her dating experiences after the divorce. So I interpreted the switching between dancing/movement-based scenes and chairs/singular person scenes as her internal struggle of wanting to move on juxtaposed against this turmoil she was feeling about her life at home. And then their eventual intertwining. I thought it was gorgeous and I keep seeing new things every time I watch it

and I do wish we got to see that red dress in color at the end bc that look was EVERYTHING

The video pretty much matches the meaning behind the song, taking control after a traumatic/depressive event.

I interpreted the chairs to represent one sitting and letting life pass on by after sadness. As the video progresses, gasoline is poured on all of them stacked and they're lit on fire and smashed, symbolizing that Adele is not going to sit around and mope; she's going to live her life.

Then there's some common religious symbols. She's dressed conservatively in religious-looking garments, standing behind a ring-light meant to look like a halo -- I perceived these as society's/religion's pressure on her to align her life by religious values. The snake and the apple from Adam & Eve appear. She takes a bite of the forbidden fruit at the end. All of that correlate to Adele's divorce and choosing to live life to the fullest, exactly as she desires, regardless of how society may perceive it as 'wrong'.

Great music video and imagery from Adele, as always.

Meh it’s alright probably my least liked song on the album really but I understand why it’s the second single since she needs a radio hit song to keep the era alive. I’m looking forward to I Drink Wine music video and hopefully they film a music video for To Be Loved cause it’s the best song on the album. :vegas:
