Wet Fire 7,591
I feel like she's almost getting more noms this season than she did during ASIB. Nevertheless, she deserves all of it and more. To all the people saying Gaga might get noms only because of her name, why are all the critics stanning her and nominating her abundantly then lol. Yes, she actually got more critics nominations this time than she did in 2019. And these small circles usually only honour indie actresses because they are often overlooked by big award shows. The fact that they are constantly nominating someone popular like Gaga is a HUGE deal. Self professed movie experts on GGD don’t know ****.
Gaby15 13,579
I am surprised that every critics circle nominating the same 7-8, mostly established, big name. Apparently mainstream movies was also pretty "artistic" this year, or low-budget indie movies didn't even come out.

There were plenty of low budget indie movies this year: Passing, Titane, Worst person in the world etc. Even Olivia’s movie is indie.
azul 2,099
I think we could have a topic exclusively dedicated to those nominations. How does it compare to her opponents? How many she won and how many she lost? How does it compare with her 2019 run?

Unfortunately, these films will be either release here in February-March, or it is questionable whether they will be at all. The Lost Daughter is on my Netflix, I want to watch it soon. We probably think different things about what makes a movie an indie art film. Art films can’t afford to star famous Hollywood actors at all, unless they were young, before they became well-known, or it is their passion project and they are doing it free. Then Madonna and every other singer turned actress would’ve gotten nominated too lol. Clearly we see the cream rises to the top People can’t stand to see Gaga win. And it’s better than her 2019 run
JRCF29 8,202
Alana Haim over Nicole Kidman is but ok. Surprised to see such limited acclaim for Jennifer Hudson among critical awards as well... Music City went with Colman in this category in 2019, and I'd say she enters as the favorite this year Don't Call Me Gaga
