I'm pretty sure she just doesn't know which of the songs should all go together. ARTPOP's overall theme is probably as much a mystery to her as it is to all of us. Think about it: Why would you be having trouble choosing 14-17 tracks to put on one album? My guess would be that there aren't 14 tracks with a similar theme, a theme she probably chose before she finished writing all the songs.

I think that's the problem. She chose the title before her body of work was even finished, and now the work probably doesn't reflect the title as well as she would like it to. And it's not like she can change it either. She already got it tattooed on her arm.

Maybe because the theme is POSSIBILITY :nacho:

Mmmhmmm. She should have said that was the codename for the album, real title to be chosen later. She's also probably having trouble finding songs whose titles are acronyms. TEA. GUY. ARTPOP. The acronym thing is kind of constricting, I'm sure.

lol you're one of the only people that thinks Garibay ruined BTW. He produced many fan favorites like MTN and HML

He didn't ruin it but he was its weakest point. Electric Chapel and Government Hooker are otherworldly. MTN, even with all its instrumental gimmicks, is very average when it comes to production.

And many will disagree, but Hair's production is great. The "overproduction," as some fans would call it, is intentional. It's this amazing unapologetically over-the-top 80s anthem and RedOne nails that vibe. Scheiße is obviously great too.

So when compared to RedOne and DJWS, Garibay's dominance on the tracklisting just seems an unfortunate choice. His songs are mostly good-to-great, but I'd never pick him as executive producer again. Not when she has clearly better options.
