Gaga is literally the most discussed contender along with Kristen - plus the Academy loves her, I'd be extremely surprised if she didn't get at least a nod.

I never expected her to win an Oscar this early in her acting career, but it would be a tragedy if she doesn't snatch a nomination for her acting in Gucci. It was leaps and bounds better than everything she's ever done, on the screen, even ASIB and I love that movie. She committed 100% to role and completely transformed into Patrizia. I've never seen such a masterclass in acting and while Gucci itself was not memorable, Gaga's performance was, it's all everyone still talks about.

Yeah, I feel like her name is slowly escaping the Oscar discussion. Obviously I hope she gets nominated, but I won’t be totally surprised if she doesn’t.

Well, while Gaga's performance was great, the actual HOG movie was not received very well. I wouldn't be enthusiastic to vote for it either.

Neither is Kristen. I like Kristen as a person and some of her movies so I'm not trying to **** on her but she is a mediocre actress and all she was doing in Spencer is impersonating Diana, nothing more. Neither the movie nor her performance are anywhere near Oscar-worthy. 

The Oscars (and all the other award shows) are not based on merit anymore. It's so pathetic.

Jk. She's an amazing actor, and she made the role hers, but I agree it's not an Oscar worthy performance. She needs more roles to prove herself as a titan, and I know she will eventually achieve that. But let's enjoy HoG for what it is: A fun and messy film

They'll change it next week when she's nominated for a SAG. We've saw some SAG ballots, and she'll be nominated. From five ballots I saw, she's #1 in one of them, and she missed two. Kristen missed two, and she's not the first option in any of them.
