It's in South America but I wouldn't say those measures Chile adopted were because of it. Chile has its own pollution problems that other places in SA don't have. But yeah I guess it is specifically a Santiago thing being stuck between mountains but it was always referred to as ozone-related so I guess assumed it would affect a larger area lol. Yeah but population and UV has little to do with the Ozone Unless the user is getting it confused with smog advisories. Perhaps because Ozone has been slowly recovering for 2 decades now and we knew this would happen sooner or later and ppl are busy worrying about other things? I dunno tho im a little surprised too Its also worth noting this hole could spuradically re-appear before fully closing permanently as the strength of the ozone layer fluctuates with temperature (because of chemical reactions) and air flows etc Its the first time the hole closed completely which is great news but the size of it is also seasonal.
