The Book of Boba Fett (Ep. 1 on Disney+)

Episode 1 came out today. Did anybody watch this? I will post my thoughts in a new post

I didn't care for the episode whatsoever. I will keep watching but it didn't tell me anything about where the series will go or the characters themselves really. I guess the episodes will continue to be part 'present' day and part flashback because otherwise starting the series on a filler episode is a weird choice

I enjoy the Star Wars franchise as a whole, but Boba Fett is not a character that calls my attention in any way lol I might give the show a chance if I'm bored and with nothing else to do.

I haven't watched it yet, but I will soon. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I enjoyed both seasons of The Mandalorian a lot. That said, I've never been a Boba Fett fan. He just kinda seems like an overrated character; he didn't do that much in the original trilogy. The Clone Wars series is what made him somewhat interesting. Fennec Shand though, seems like a total badass.

I just remembered that Robert Rodriguez is directing this  I hate his direction, it always feels very amateurish  Like, his Boba Fett episode in Mando season 2 was directed so poorly in my opinion

tbh Boba was not so interesting in the movies and idk how he became some kind of cult, maybe the mystery behind he's death? or maybe because he's representing masculinity? idk

but overall not really a fan of a mafia story, kinda overused, I'll judge tonight.

I don't have any complaints about the direction. The only problem is the script IMO

Ep 5 made Boba a star. I think the quiet brooding, cool costume, and "no disintegrations" was what made people think he was a badass. Even tho he's never done anything badass on screen.

yeah exactly and tbh as much as I love Ming-Na Wen, Fennec is such a weak, eye rolling character..

and so far the cast looks pretty small.

I'm more excited for the other shows like Ahsoka, I mean, they are bringing back some cool characters

I saw the Obi-Wan card on D+ for the first time and it made me remotely more excited for that show I have limited hype for.

 

Can't wait for Ahsoka too.

It is pretty solid season opener. There are no surprises that would make locals hooked for next week episode the way Mandalorian was, but perhaps it will works on Boba Fett.
