Title. While it was “cool” to hate on Lorde’s comeback this year :green:, I feel like Mood Ring was tragically overlooked. It’s such a good song imo! But as I post this, I’m astonished that it only has 11 million views after 4 months. :crossed: One of my favorites of the year for sure. Your thoughts and stream dis bops, peasants~

I mean it was placed on streaming services due to popular demand. It's sooo good

I personally like the song but one feedback I’ve gathered from the haters (at least music critics) is that the aim of the song missed the mark bc it’s satirical, but you really would never know unless you “know” lorde well/follow her interviews etc. I’ve read people just interpret it as this like vapid basic song lol

Were people hating on her? From what I've seen, people were just genuinely not interested in the album

Pop Music

I was listening to it today!

I love Solar Power, even if I do agree it's Lorde's "worst" album (though that isn't saying much as I do love it)

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

The song itself is really good and deserved more attention but Solar Power as an album was a disappointment to me. I mean, Green Light wasn't that huge of a hit either, or Perfect Places but Melodrama as an album was quite the phenomenon and got the recognition it deserved but didn't really have a hit song. The locals have forgotten about Lorde since Royals, now it's just the smaller group of fans that keep supporting her.

Which tbh I never got as I felt like no one who legitimately believed that stuff would put it in a song. I’m not even the biggest Lorde stan and from the get go it seemed satirical. I think people wanted her to be meaner tbh which is fair but at the same time...it wasn’t supposed to be mean lol it was supposed to be kind of sad and the satire was poking fun at how sad their lives must be. Idk I can see critiques for the song as valid, but idk I think it just wasn’t some people’s satire and I also think Lorde’s approach isn’t typically how satire is used (usually these days it’s more in your face and with more bite).

Girl song is seriously so damn good!! It deserved so much better. I really wish this song was promoted more because it has so much potential.
