She’s a performer and a vocalist. That’s her creative output. She’s also co-written many of her own songs. Why are you trying to erase her contributions as a writer? And why do you place so much importance on songwriting as if she’s a flawed musician simply because she doesn’t write all her own songs? How do you feel about Michael considering he wrote songs but couldn’t even read music? Did his inability to play the parts he wrote indicate that he lacked artistry and needed to rely heavily on other musicians to actualize his music? That’s a weird logic.

Based on the video posted here in this thread before (where Beyoncé meets Michael) I believe that Beyoncé would be appalled to hear that comparison. You can say whatever you want to say about Michael, you can think whatever you want to think, but to put this disrespect on his name.. it’s appalling. I was 10 when he passed away, and even I, a young child, which barely knew anything about him at the time, was shocked to hear the news. I remember the magazines, the newspapers, radio and television, all filled about the news. The same goes for Amy, Whitney and David. They left us too soon, too early. But their talent and contribution to the arts still resonates, and is still talked about.

Y'know as a Beyhive as much as i would like that to be true, its not its just not, she doesnt give a **** about pleasing the public or about commercial success, im still stunned that Lemonade was so big considering its heavy political message, not surprised that Black is King didn't do as well though, its a hit in Africa though so, she reached her target audience.

 

And like i said before i dont think she's cared about commercial success since... the self titled era? maybe even before, honestly i dont think she ever cared considering all the promo heavy eras she had were when her father was her manager.

also I’ve always had an admiration for Jay, he really is smart (aside from cheating ) What he said about the Bey and MJ comparison is true, artists are always, and should learn and grow from the greats. If you can’t accept that then you truly don’t believe in evolution. Beychella was a passion project, a work of art. From the arrangements, the production, the sybolism of HBCUs and the songs used for traditions, that performance was made with blood sweat and tears, and we would never have seen something like this back then.

What you've quoted was about Gaga - Gaga likes to 'please the public', like Michael did. I agree that Beyonce doesn't, which is one of the reasons she will never be 'bigger' than Michael.
