Literally this. People in remote villages all over the world knew about Michael. Nobody else has his level of impact.

They not only knew him, a village on the Ivory Coast literally crowned him their king :legend:

They still consider his kids part of their royalty today. I don't see Beyonce holding literal nobility :partysick:

But let me not put Bey down, she's one of the artists that consistently shows him the respect he deserves

Queen :applause:

I actually think Gaga is the closest to Michael out of our current main pop artists. She is far from his level but still the closest in my view. She isn't the dancer he was but I can see that she models the way she carries herself partly on him. Her focus on mental health and kindness really reminds me of Michael, and I find it interesting that commercial success (and 'pleasing the public') is still very important to her as a means to have mass impact and to get her voice heard... much like Michael.

Very much this. I've yet to see another artist emulate Michael as a person or an artist like Gaga does :applause:

The ego.... jeez louise. Coachella is too cheap for MJ. And I don't like comparisons between Beyoncé and MJ. To me MJ can only be compared by James Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Elvis or even Jackie Wilson.

Beyoncé can be compared with Adele, Rihanna, Gaga. Don't get it twisted. Not everyone likes Beyoncés music, she doesn't bring out all people of all ages, races, sexes, and backgrounds. She doesn't make people faint in a crowd, she's adored by the black community especially, and sometimes beyond, but it's not at the same level as the same love MJ fans had from every single continent, from every village everyone knows and knew who he was, he was as famous as Jesus. Jay Z was in a subway and couldn't even get recognized by an old lady, but he wanna talk about MJ. He's not on your level, there's probably nobody who came to MJ's level of stardom and love people had for him. An icon, pure and simple the definition of it and not the word we throw around. Beyoncé's only iconic song is Single Ladies and Crazy in love, and many people dont give a **** about these songs, some are not into it. MJ's power and I think some artists don't freakin understand because they have an ego, his power was the power of a prophet honestly. The power to bring out everyone, and that everyone can enjoy his song and craft because it was so unique, so rare, like anyone would enjoy a very rare specifically cooked meal with rare ingredients, it's pure luxury, it's not about copying and pasting different artists or different things and then u think that's it ur on MJ's level. It's whether or not you have artistry and love for your craft, and not for your ego and image, and your wealth.

I understand what u mean but i disagree. Gaga can be compared with Cher, or Madonna. Gaga will become a huge icon as time goes by, she already is a huge pop name that a lot of people know about. Michael Jackson cannot be compared with Beyoncé, Gaga, Adèle, or Rihanna who broke records. Michael Jackson is on the level of the most talented artists of all time, I'm talking James Brown etc...and even then no one apart maybe from Elvis, got on this level of pure icon status, pure icon, I'm not talking about Gaga or Bey on stage being recognized, it's pure icon to the point where the person doesn't even seem like a human being but more like a character written for a blockbuster movie. Elvis and his jumpsuit and voice, and hair, and dance moves, to MJ's gloves, moonwalks etc These people are on another level, I'm sorry but they just are. It's not the same. It's like comparing Scarlett Johansson and Marilyn Monroe, it's not the same

Does anyone ever stop to think about the fact that both Bey and Jay are some of the BLANDEST personalities in music? :oprah:

And comparing Bey to MJ is just... hilarious :billie: he had more charisma in one finger than Bey has in her whole body.

Beyonce been in this game for 20 years if not more and not one show is dedicated to her with new upcoming artists paying tribute to her like MJ had. Because guess what? Not the same impact in the world of music.

If you think Beyoncé is on the same level of James Brown or Beatles, then there's something wrong with u. Beyoncé is just slightly bigger than Rihanna and Rihanna is never gonna be regarded as a great artist, I'm sorry but that's my truth I dont understand anyone not agreeing with me on this.
