Reminder: Katar KILLED 15,000+ guest workers in order to construct the stadiums to host this event, the one still in the country live in inhumane and slavery-like conditions that even the general population of Katar disapproves of.

Meanwhile, David Beckham has been paid $150,000,000 by the FIFA to be the „friendly face“ that leads the ad campaign for this World Cup.

When Katar was elected to host the tournament, they had 0% infrastructure to actually host any matches. In order to built like 10+ stadiums within a year, the government employed guest workers from poor African countries for the manual labor. They could pay those dumping wages and it still would mean a lot of money to them. The working conditions for those workers have been absolutely brutal and inhumane, causing 15k+ deaths from overworking, unsafe construction sites and accidents.

Devastating but not surprising honestly :S the sports industry, especially soccer/football is so fkn corrupt. The amount of money these people (not just the players) make :messga: and the world won't do anything about it because it brings to much cash that no one is willing to risk losing :madge:
