I legit thought it would last 1 month

Honestly so did i, but at the time county was threatening to cut funding to my job; and when they said “we’re just gonna fund you because we have to get covid-19 under control” I knew this was gonna be horrible!

During this entire pandemic, I was for at least 2 full years an inch away from being hospitalised in a psych ward. I literally can’t take it mentally anymore. I got vaccinated (twice, and I want to get the third one in January 2022) and I’ve always followed the measurements from the government as much as possible. But there’s a limit on how much stress someone can handle, and this limit is going to be easily passed after 4 years of living through an pandemic. I don’t think people realise that I’ll be 26 when this pandemic is going to be over. I’ve lived almost my entire young adulthood through the pandemic and I had to quit studying three times because I couldn’t take the stress of studying and surviving a pandemic. I am done with this bullshit. I mean, my government already said that they expected it as well but I am sad that this is going to be most likely reality. And, my little brother, who was 14 when the pandemic started, will be 18 when it might be over….

I'm sorry it's been so rough for you. 😭 I'm literally shocked when I think about the passage of time right now. And I've completely lost any sense of what normal life is anymore. I have younger siblings too and it's so sad that they won't have a normal teenage experience.

Me too, like once, I went to a shop to go to a friend and he told me that I didn’t need to wear a face mask (the shop was closed, it was curfew and I delivered for them as well) and it was the first time since the pandemic that I didn’t need to wear a face mask in a shop. It was so weird, it felt like I was doing something wrong even though it was outside of opening hours. Obviously now, I have to wear a mask everywhere and I don’t mind doing it, but the feeling of not having to do it, it feels so strange. And especially now that clubs are opened with the 3G rule (vaccinated, sickness and tested), it feels even more weird. I literally left a club earlier because I felt like it was an sensory overload after 2 years of not doing it. But I do feel for my younger brother, he has severe mental health issues and he can’t go to school, and he’s kind of stuck in the house for the last 2 years. And while I feel like that him not going to school is bad, I think it is worse that he can’t even go out, make friends and do the things that I got to experience at 15. Our lives is completely different and I wish I could give him the same experience, but I can’t. And it feels like every day is the same, I wish I could travel again without having to research every little detail about the COVID measurements and prepare so much, or go to a concert to see my favourite artists. Everything is made so difficult and it’s stressing me out. Not only that, but mental health issues under young people became astronomically high under COVID. And I totally get it, I got mental health issues like, 8 months before COVID and I feel like the whole pandemic made it worse and it’s making it stay like that. I feel like some people definitely have no sense of how stressful this is for others, and lack basic sense of empathy. Like, I totally get it that some people truly got the best out of the pandemic, but there should be some sense of reservation and to be aware that people have been less unfortunately, especially (mental) health wise.

I already don’t care about omicron because I’ve never thought the pandemic was over. I am vaxxed and wear masks in spaces that do not require vaccination. This has never changed for me. So having a realistic idea of when it would become endemic is good. IMO cases are no longer relevant. Hospitalizations are what we need to be reporting on. The media is creating all the same frenzy as if this is Covid-19 the sequel bigger longer and uncut. I don’t care anymore. I will continue to take safety precautions and live my life.

Are they not free where you're living? I was able to get all three of my vaccines for free :oprah:

They're free because the government buys them. Pfizer isn't giving out shots for free girly girl.

I feel you:kara:

Especially now at Christmas time, it's so hard. It used to be my favourite time of the year and I lived on those memories well into the new year. But going now into a second year with cancelled Christmas is just depressing. Also I feel like I lost pretty much all of my friends who retreated in their closest circles I wasn't part of. It's also kind of scary to see how many of my colleagues and friends moved back with their parents before going insane alone.

It might be fine for those countries where lockdown was a short phase in spring 2020, but these are devastating prospects for everyone in countries where hard restrictions are impended quite often and fast.

I was at the store, and I held Christmas decorations in my hands, when something in my head snapped. Like; why the hell am I even trying? I will not be surrounded with friends and family, and last year, I was surrounded with crackheads with one person in a Santa Claus outfit, sniffing designer drugs :awkney:

And I lost quite a lot of close friends as well, but it wasn’t because of COVID, but because I moved out to a new country. And I’m actually quite sad about it, at times. I cared about them a lot and some ditched me after I told them that I would leave the country. Some didn’t even take the opportunity to say goodbye, but did send me a message telling me; “I’m smoking a cigarette, and I kind of miss you now” like what? I gave you the opportunity to meet me, I texted and tried to call you so many times, and you have the audacity to tell me that you miss me? What the ****? :awkney:

And going into lockdown, this is something which doesn’t apply to me yet, but I do have friends and family which presumably are going through lockdown a week before Christmas and I feel bad for them. They won’t be capable of meeting their loved ones and will be stuck at home again for the 3th time during the pandemic. And presumably, curfew will also be implemented again as literally the infection rate has been so bad. I wish we could do back to normal, like I used to enjoy going to cafes, restaurants, concerts and meeting friends. Now, I am depressed the whole time :awkney:
