The strongest stuff I know of left wing stances were stuff like protests that technically unlawfully stopped things like trains... or protests that ended up escalating to violience... which generally lead to arrests for a short period of time. There has been one prominent case of a so called "left-wing terrorist" that went viral on social media for the unproportional amount of draconity by the justice system and police. That of Lina E. a supposed "left wing terrorist", who was accused of punching literal Neo-Nazis and has now been sitting in "investigative custody" for almost two years now, awaiting her trial, without parole. This of course... is quite excessive for punching a Nazi of all people. Police in Germany also tends to prefer to escalate conflicts with left-wing protestors, rather than right-wing protestors. During the Hambacher Forst protests in 2018, the police forcefully escalated and ended a peaceful green-leftwing protest, the police operation was ruled "illegal" by courts this year which influence this years elections a lot because the man who greenlit the op was Conservative chancellor candidate. One journalist died during the protest and many more were injured. During the G7 protests in Hamburg just a year prior, the police escalated the conflict with left-wing autonomous protestors as well, causing almost civil war like riots in the city. The police has been especially criticised by the German media for unneccesary police brutality against journalists who were documenting the riots, with MANY high profile German journalists claiming they were specifically harrassed, punched, pushed and had their camera equipment destroyed by police. Media outlets across all political spectrums (even the notorious right wing BILD, Germany Fox News in print) actually came together to sign an open letter, condemning the violent excesses of the police. Of course... no policemen every suffered any disciplinary consequences from these botched operations. Right-wing extremist protests have been aplenty, but they have NEVER escalated as badly as left-wing protests because... well... the general corpus of the German police is definitely more conservative and even right-wing extremist in political ideology (the biggest police union of Germany is a prominent backer and donor of the far-right, white nationalist AfD party). There have been multiple viral protests where the police patrolling at anti-vaxx and right-wing protests have actually joined the protestors and cheered the crowd on, encouraging them to take of their masks and burn them Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
