What a legend. I absolutely love her, she is a true queen of pop, her catalog is insane, she always delivers quality in terms of set and costum production which is so often overlooked by other acts, so I am sure this show will be nothing short of amazing. She is an entertainer for sure. The amount of costumes is CRAZY, like what is the storyline to thisss and when will she be able to change in them all, not to mention that there might be more! The orange dress with the high splits looks SO good, I cannot wait to see that one, I hope it’s for Never Really Over. I know it’s not necessarely her biggest hit but it’s one of her greatest pop songs ever and I hope it makes the cut.

holy scheisse

The concept of her being a doll and then getting thrown out is a cute metaphor for her career

And the outfits seem super cute too. The bubble one and coke can one had me of course thinking about green hair/mechanical horses tho :ally:

tbh i think vegas is the right place to experiment with remixing and changing the songs. she’s been performing i kissed a girl, firework etc for over a decade so i’m sure she’s tired of the originals.

people on tour are likely to be seeing her for the first time, whereas vegas will have a lot of returning people as it’s a residency

I’m not sure I agree.  I think Vegas is def a more casual fan than people who go to her tours. I think going to a tour is more intentional because you’re a fan. But in vegas, a lot of the audience are people who are already in vegas for vacation and then looking for something fun to do. So they might go to a show from someone they recognize and figure they’ll know the hits even if they’re not massive fans.  When I saw Enigma, most of the people around me were tourists who weren’t super fans but excite to see a big show in vegas. I talked to them all so I could tell.

This is why I'm not a fan of Vegas Residencies. They're catering to the casual, general population so you're really going to hear mostly hits. Still fun but fans want deep cuts and something more personal. These shows always seem like parodies of the real deal.

I do think a greatest hits set is fun for fans too tho.  Everyone always complains when an artist tours a new record and skips their favourite songs because they’re playing new stuff.  While touring new material is great, there’s also something to be said for enjoying a show of greatest hits too. Katy has already said this is a one off greatest hits show for vegas that she won’t tour.

I personally would love some deep cuts like

Pearl

Who Am I Living For

Hummingbird Heartbeat

International Smile

Love Me

Double Rainbow

Power

Deja Vu

Tsunami

Save As Draft

Pendulum

Resilient

Only Love

What Makes A Woman

but that would literally take up the whole set and she has iconic hits to serve

She could save one spot of the setlist and sing a different track from those each night.
