Million Reasons aged like fine wine

I'll always appreciate how much Gaga pushed Million Reasons (to many fans' dismay lol) and it eventually became a STAPLE in her discography!!!

The performance on Alan Carr is my fav and brings me to tears. Especially when she says, "So if you're alone this season, this one's for you" (or something like that) :bradley::bradley::messga::messga:

Bradley

It's one of Gaga's best ballads if not the best, if we don't count those from A Star Is Born.

Not even Speechless is on Million Reasons's level.

It's hard to seperate the song from the video when it's THAT terrible lmao but I'll try.

It's well produced, the chorus has a nice melody and the post-chorus/bridge even more so. But lyrically it is not great - very vague to the point it barely makes sense. And I think it's far from her best vocal performance, and bit grating. Overall an unimaginative and uninteresting song, nowhere near her best ballad IMO.

The way you always love trashing Joanne hahaha anyway, i think that lyrically is brilliant and makes all sense even tho its subject it's not very specific as it portrays the struggle of repeatedly have to go trough heartbreaks, deceptions, disappointments, to the point you're just so push over the edge that you want to quit, but all you just want to make it reconsider your decision is only one good reason to stay, you beg one thing that makes your hopes go up and stay, that makes you happy, you're begging for just for one good thing amidst all the sh*t and the misery to make you not do it, very sadomasochistic if you think about it as always with miss Stefani, and it can apply to leaving a relationship, wanting to commit suicide, wanting to quit the music industry, a job, a friendship etc etc, the fact that it can be applied to so many things and the message it's still so good it's what makes it a really good pop song.
Most gaga songs have that double, triple and multiple meaning quality and that's what makes her a brilliant pop songwriter, yet sometimes it makes people be confuse and think they don't understand the song or the song itself doesn't make sense instead of searching for their own meaning, because everyone always wants songs to be about only one thing and that's it, that's not gaga, most of her songs are about ideas, not specific things

And it ties very well with the concept of Joanne as is narrated from the perspective of this American catholic girl and the struggles she goes through.

Also, so many people complaining about the video, yes it's very simple and kinda lame in a context of a lady gaga music video, but gaga didn't have any pretensions for it anyway, i like it for what it is, just gaga performing as Joanne, i always love to watch gaga performing she always have a lot of nuances, this is not a exception, the same thing with the Joanne piano version video.

Agree about the lyrics, it's as if she ran out of words. Vocally though it really allows her to let rip, and that's what I'm here for first and foremost.

The song is solid but it’s one of the few songs I heard too much! Didn’t she performed it like even 2 yrs after the release? At one point it was just too much

5/10 :classy:

Million Reasons deserves its spot as one of Gagas top songs, I mean all of the performances speak for themselves.

The video is so obviously leaning into an overtly souvenir, token sentiment that smushed between Perfect Illusion & John Wayne, it makes it obvious she was leaning into the cliché with the video. When you watch all of t her videos as a whole, it works so well!
