Fully off topic but if anyone has the chance to go to Rotterdam in the NL don't hesitate! Went there in August and totally fell in love with this city :flutter:

Well, I actually had a trip planned to celebrate the new year with my brother, but I'm going to cancel now. Here is to another year with endless weeks of sitting in our tiny flat and staring at screens:vegas:

It seems really counterintuitive to do this... seems like more people will pack into those locations during the limited open hours rather than spreading it out

This.

I work in a hotel in the centre of Amsterdam and it's crazy how many people/tourists are roaming the streets before 8pm.

Around 86%, but more and more people who got vaccinated also get ill. Lockdown is probably going to be even worse from tomorrow, as the nee advice for the government is to close everything again out of fear for Omicron…

Dutchies, whatever the news may be, stay strong. It is a very bitter feeling to see the country going into lockdown again, especially because it’s a combination of government policy failure (including the vaccination strategy). Recently, it was uncovered that 500.000 casualties would be the ‘hard limit’ of the government. Isn’t that ridiculous?

But, I would like to remind you that if it gets difficult in the case of a hard lockdown, and that you start to suffer from serious mental health problems, to contact your GP as soon as possible or to call 113 (in case of an emergency call 112). Your doctor could possibly register you with the crisis service. It may sound a bit exaggerated, but I myself had a very difficult time during the lockdowns when I lived in the Netherlands.  Know that many people care about you and if you need me, you can message me.
