Adele lobbied bosses not to give away freebies to her upcoming residency

Free tickets to the hottest shows in town have long been a valuable perk handed to the biggest gamblers in Las Vegas. But Adele has now barred these high-rollers from her concerts to ensure all tickets go to genuine fans.

The Mail on Sunday understands that the singer successfully lobbied bosses at the Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace not to give away freebies to her upcoming residency.

Banning the high-rollers will not provide Adele with any financial gain – but with ticket sales at a reported £37 million, that hardly matters.

'Adele feels strongly about this and wants her fans to be able to watch her rather than having people get free tickets just because they spent lots of money in a casino,' said an insider.

'There is an element of 'good for her', but it has irritated some people at Caesars Palace who have long given tickets to concerts as a thank-you for high rollers.

'A number of tickets get held back for each performance for the venue to give to their big spenders, but not for Adele – she isn't prepared to tolerate this.'

She’s been acting very chart obsessed and money “hungry” these past few year. I guess the success of 25 really got to her. Regardless, I still love her and her music.

This isn't money hungry at all, she'd get compensated for those tickets no matter who gets them, she just wants to make sure that fans aren't missing out because of tickets already held back from day 1.

Are you guys serious? Do you think a few more tickets make that much more of a difference to the already HUGE check she is getting? Do you ever think that people do stuff for genuine reasons too in this world? Maybe she really wants to give her fans the opportunity to see the show considering how huge the demand is already. Hmm I understand that tickets are hard to find, but it’s still a bit rude. I think her biggest fans deserve a few free tickets. It might be the wording in the article that makes it sound mean I guess.

I think maybe you've misunderstood. Those free tickets wouldn't go to fans, they would go to loyal customers at the casino, who may or may not be Adele fans. They'll say it's a 'thank you' but it's just a way to tempt those customers to stay loyal to that casino.

I guess a lot of those free tickets would also go to the casino boss' "friends" as a way of networking and sweetening up potential business deals.

How did you read the article to come to this? I believe it is very clear she did this to protect her fans so that all of them can get tickets, the free tickets that are barred are not for her fans, but for random wealthy gamblers that usually get these perks for spending so much money to gamble in their casino. 

How did you accuse Adele for something you have misunderstood??
