Evanescence fans help me find BMTL Bliss Mix

I am struggling to find the Bliss Mix of Bring Me To Life in a high quality format (maybe because the song is already old enough to vote :toofunny:). It is the version of the song without Paul McCoy (the man) making the chorus a meme ("Wake me up! I can't wake up! Save me!"). The Bliss Mix was released on the CD single because this is the version of the song Amy Lee wanted released, but her record label forced her to collaborate with a male vocalist because they didn't think a female metal singer couldn't stand on her own at the time :emma: Anyway... I guarantee once you get used to hearing the song without him on it you will start to prefer it. It sounds less dated and makes the song more timeless without the 2000s nu-metal influence he brings :gaysia:

So back on topic... if anyone knows where I can find a high quality version pls let me know :classy: Don't tell me to use those mp3-sharing websites from 2007 because you know those files are crunchy

I was a huge fan back then, but I can't help you unfortunately. I think that's one of the few tracks I didn't download as an mp3 way back in the day! If only Evthreads was still around so you could post a RQ thread there instead of here

Also I have always wondered what the bridge would sound like without the rapping and back-and-forth between them, because that whole section was created simply because that's the most rapping and male vocals Amy would allow in negotiations. She said she would only do it if she chose the male artist, and the 'rap' was done her way. So I assume there would've been an entirely different bridge in that section. Or maybe it was just originally instrumental. I really don't believe it was written as just her parts with empty sections in between like in the video you posted. I guess we will never know!

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

That question can actually be answered, we have the first and second demos of this song!

The first demo has a more synthesized introduction, no harmonies, raw vocals, more aggressive electric guitar... and as you're interested in, a differing bridge! This one focuses exclusively on the guitar riff and doesn't have vocals during the latter half:

The second demo has more electronica elements and experiments with a lot of effects. Her vocal production is more full like the finished product as well. The latter half of the bridge on this version is also unique and features a guitar solo. This is probably closest to the vision Amy Lee had:

So you are probably right, the sparse vocal performance in the finalized solo edit is likely a result of the back-and-forth nature of the duet version. I've been getting used to it for a few years though and I don't find it to sound too unnatural.
